Katelynne Ahearn-Assistant Coach

Katelynne Ahearn is a USS registered coach and has been coaching for MASK since college. She has recently graduated (early) from the University of Vermont in Dec 2016 with a degree in Psych (strong concentration in developmental psych) with a coaching minor. Kate started swimming with MASK at a young age. She excelled as a young swimmer on MASK being a high point scorer, and eventually leading the team as Captain through High School. She also swam all 4 years Varsity for Marshfield High and made it to both Sectionals and States. Kate graduated with honors from MHS in 2013. Upon a devastating injury, where Katelynne broke her leg her Senior year of high school, she needed to walk away from competing. Katelynne then decided to turn her focus to the coaching side of swimming, and has used that passion for the sport to learn as much as she can during the last 4 years. She completed her internship working with the athletics dept. at UVM and all the D1 collegiate athletes. Katelynne's area of expertise in coaching is to really help equip her swimmers with the mental skills and motivation they need to perform in and out of the pool, and to guide them  to learn and mature as athletes as well as individuals. We are excited to have Coach Ahearn back on deck with her MASK family!
